Smoking

I do very much the same thing. I love to go hiking here in the mountains, but I'll get to my destination for a break to catch my breath, and light up a smoke....haha.

That's exactly what happens.

What made you all first take up smoking? I'm curious.

I had a teacher who started smoking at the age of 8, just because everyone around her did. She decided to quit last year because she realised how much money she had been putting into the habit over the years (Money, always a great motivator huh?).

I started because I was young, my father smoked, and the kids I was hanging out with (bad influence for sure) were smoking. I was curious to know why they did it all of the time. So I jacked some of my dad's cigs. It was alright at first, but I didn't really get hooked until now, 6 years later. Those same kids introduced me to weed, porn, and women as well....I learned a lot of dark things in those days....

As for money...yes, I never wanted to smoke when I thought about how much I spend on it and how much I will spend on it, but at the same time, it's no different than buying your favorite snack at a store for the rest of your life. People buy cokes or candy all through life and spend thousands of dollars on those, which to me, is no different than buying smokes. It's like a snack that I enjoy every so often. Like an accessory. When I'm broke I never go and buy smokes though. I do save my money when I need to.
