Let's talk about sex...

I have read some series that the vampires have no trouble with this, either for metaphysical reasons, or if they have fed on a human first, then they have blood flow. Depends on the author.

Also, I would also think it would be good for people to read this thread. They might find some useful information, or be prompted to research something further on their own. The worst thing we can do to kids is hide the truth from them, or pretend it will be okay if we tell them nothing. That's wrong. Information will save you, not harm you, and I can't imagine any REALLY young kids spending enough time on this forum to find this information anyway!

Yep, it depends on the author. Some vampires can't have sex at all, others are something like sex gods and others need blood or some magic potion etc.

It's fun to think about the logic when it comes to vampires and other dead things... once thing that amazed me in a videogame once was a guy, who died and was very cold (proofe of bad blood-circulation) but he could still not only have sex, but make a babie... never understood how that worked, as sperm need a specific temperature to survive, and how she could stand with him being so cold (it was -10 C or more). I can't stand when my boys hands are cold... what about the whole body?

First of all I don't think I could get naked with a corpse, even if it was an animated corpse. Ick. But some authors' vampires can make children, but I haven't heard of a female vampire giving birth (in a story, obviously). Anyone on that?

For your interest scottiebee, the female vampire protagonist in Underworld: Rise of the Lycans was pregnant to the male werewolf protagonist's baby :S

Firstly; Ew to necrophelia. lol just ew. I can \"understand\" (as far as that goes for someone who has never gone there) where those urges come from, but for the ha ha life of me find it very, very hard to justify.

The whole Vampire and sex thing is very interesting in itself. I love Interview with a Vampire which is extremely sexual/ sensual but does not contain sex at all. They did not feel the urge as sex is driven by the need to procreate. Vampires do not need to breed and are no longer human - being detached from their humanity they most often in my reading/ viewing experience portrayed as being extremely sensual but not entirely sexual. Other vampire books Ive read dont include the vampire having sex.

Underworld is so pop culture. I actually really like those movies but yeah - it was a bit like... okay so I know these two actors are totally hot and I understand that sex sells but Im just going to flick that little switch of wtf off for a minute and watch two really hot people getting it on... and just forget one is the undead and the other like... an undead dog...

And you know, as much as past Movie series have shown that if you get to a fourth one its generally not going to be as good as the first two, Ill be interested to watch how they continue the story after they pretty much killed everyone... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Underworld_%28film_series%29#Fourth_film

So. Vampires are sexy yes, should they be having sex... well.... the physiological side of things all say nooo... not really noooo..... even massive amounts of viagra wouldnt give you an erection when you dont have a pulse...

And women can take viagra too just fyi its only 50% as effective as with guys though
