Wow, I didn't think Amy Lee was that famous. I used to live in the same city she is from; Little Rock and she always seemed like just another big local band. Huh..fun fact

the thread of life lies severed on the brink of paradise.. .

Welcome, Gothic-Angel! About books, I could recommend you a lot, but I think most of them are already depressive so I don't know if they could cheer you up. There's this book by this Romanian author, but it's kinda rare and I think it was never translated into other languages. It's called \"the Mosaic\" and it tackles deep philosophical questions and human dilemmas and fears with a bit of humour. It's exceptional, too bad it is fairly unknown.

To see a world in a Grain of Sand,
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour.

Welcome to the forum!
I'd recommend \"I, Lucifer\" by Glen Duncan. The book is written in I-form and basically the devil writes he's side of the story. It's loaded with humor and I think it will surely make you laugh. I got cramps from laughing too much on some parts. It's my favorite book. :silly:

Welcome, from another Canadian!
If you want to read something to make you laugh, try Douglas Adams... totally absurd humour, and I find it absolutely hilarious.

My beauty is not the shape of the body,
but the voices in you mind;
the thoughts you can't live without

I don't really get depressed, but when I get thoughts in my head I don't want, I usually play videogames - it's easy to focus and get lost, so bad thoughts go away pretty quick. With a book it's harder, but it sure is possible.
And about Evanescence, they're pretty big. Almost everyone has heard about them over here, meaning Sweden, and in our neghburing countries as well. It's not always good tho, as most seem to disslike them for being christian and and not really a rock-band - they rather listen to Nightwish. And I don't believe it's only because Nightwish are from finland, our closest country so to speak... :blush:
