Agreed. There is so much fantastic detail that is left out in the movies. There was a lot of things I would have liked to have seen . . .

yes but all 3 would end up to way too long like 5 hours each

Well, I know not many wouldn't feel the same way. But I really wouldn't mind the movies being that long. I really don't care how long a movie is as long as it's good and, in the case of a book turned movie, faithful to the original medium. Regardless I was still able to enjoy the movies very much in their given form.

I appreciate the books have a much more impressive world in them and they had to leave out some parts of the books which seem really important (like the Scouring of the Shire). But the movies did a really impressive job of bringing Middle-Earth to life rather than just having it as a glorified backdrop.

Bonjour brothers & sister of The Order Of Algoth,

You talk of all the fantastic details in books but, for me is just some useless details that bothered me in reading this book.

Tolkien was passionate about genealogy and his work confirms ...

Where is the utility we talk about great-great grandparents of a person who does live in the story that ... 3 pages!

The aubergist is an example of this ...

Mes hommages.
