Best werewolves

With the new Wolfman movie coming out soon, I would like to ask you:
What do you think is the best on screen werewolf?
and What is the best on screen werewolf transformation scene you have ever seen?

My favourite werewolf is the black werewolf at the end of Van Helsing, as it looks totally awesome.
And my favourite transformation is the american werewolf in london, it's a bit cheesy in places(when he's looking straight into the camera and reaching towards it), but the prosthetics and other special effects, the acting and the great choice of music make it my favourite.

I'm not as well-versed in werewolf films as some people here, but I think Gingersnaps would be my favourite. The story was good, and very funny in places, and I liked that the transformation was gradual, so that you really get to see her reactions to it.

For it's day an american werewolf in london looked amazing.

After watching being human, I now remember I forgot to add that the transformations of George and Nina in that show are actually some of the best I've ever seen.
