Does anything or any situation make you nervous? Do you get nervous at all? What do you do to avoid it and calm down?


Had a piano exam earlier and my nerves completely overcame me - My piano playing was consequently awful, in front of an ex-chief examiner as well. :S Happens a lot during music exams, especially as I progress to harder grades where there's a lot more fiddly, detailed stuff and I just can't control shaky hands.

I tend to talk to myself when I get nervous. If I'm alone, then it would be out loud, if I'm in another's presence then I'll stay in my own head.
I was actually thinking about taking piano lessons soon. I learned once when I was a child but I would like to re-learn.
Meaning comes from within.

I've played the piano since I was 6 - Felt like quitting many times, but glad I didn't now. Take it up, I'm certain it'll bring you much satisfaction. :)

My nervousness is almost crippling when ever I enter into a new situation. I have very little confidence in myself so if I were to start a new job for instance, I'd be absolutely terrified that I'd screw something up. It takes quite awhile for me to calm down and find my stride. I hate it!
