Past Lives?

The thought of a past life is nice. To have \"another change\". But I don't know if I believe in it. Of course it's fun to think/play with the thought who I might have been if I had lived before, but that is all.

Although I think that the hype on having past lives is just whining of the people who think they didn't accomplish much in this life and want to do it in the next (which basically triggers a slight feeling of sickness in my stomach. \"Do your goddamn job right for once\" ) I believe it's is a fairly nice thought. Further on, I strongly believe that I was a catholic priest in my past life, and was executed by the nazis during the middle of WW2. Which, sadly enough, changes nothing, as I do not remember where I stashed all the church gold and relics... Ah... Memories. Or the lack of it.

Be as it may, I have heard of birth/death transcendance. Which is an interesting concept. No matter how mathematically incorrect.

And before you all start throwing rotten vegetables at me, I would like to point out that
A ) I am much more inclined in the theory of parallel universes.
B ) As I already mentioned, mathematically it is a total offshot of any evolutionary sciences
C ) Since evolutionary sciences are not 100% proven, I would take loads of other spiritual teachings that contradict reincarnation
D ) It is my 100th post so cut me some slack (EDIT) It's my 99th actually We'll fix that in a second. But still...
E ) I've had a really s**tty day so i'm feeling very bitter. For which I apologize in advance.

I'm not really sure what I believe on this topic. I've had lots of weird dreams in my lifetime, but nothing to suggest a past life memory, which seems to be how people usually remember them. I do like the idea of it though.

Well not to break public opinion, but my mother (66) swears she was an egyptian long ago. She can tell you in detail about Thebes and other places without knowing the books and definintions. My mother told me she could tell you about the shoes, clothes, and her status in the city. How the sand felt on her feet.... My mother is not the one to take fancy to UFO's and other things, but she swears by this. I think that could happen. I have had deep dreams that have taken me into Victorian era and the time of the Black Death, so I don't know if there was past lives surfacing in my dreams, but I can sure tell you about the street I walked down and how death smells....

I used to have a friend who swore that he could sense other people's past lives. He told me that he believed I had been a native american warrior, a roman soldier, and a shaolin monk. Oddly, he said that all my past lives he could sense were either male, or female warrior types, but mostly male. He figures I would be a good warrior. I guess he is right. I love kung-fu. I am brown belt, but I haven't been to the temple for study in a while, but I still know how to wield my sword and staff. Maybe my friend was right.

My best friend has a very strong sense of people's past lives. Not a whole lot of details but she seems to be able to tell when a soul's been around for awhile. And we both agree that we've crossed paths a number of times before.
