I haven't tried it yet, but I'd like to (in spite of the black licorice taste). Interesting that Manson has his own version, I'll have to watch for that.

I've heard that it's supposed to cause hallucinations, but that could have been the laudanum and/or opium that was popular in Victorian times as well.

@ Lonecrow:

For me (and not only for me) the dark Absinthe is not the best...

About \"Gothica\" (it's a dark absinthe) in a site of reference, may have read this:

This is the worst thing EVER! a smell like benzene alcohol, an appearance like anti-freeze, and a taste somewhere t the intersection of the two, i could not bear it. with the exception of one miserable glass, i have the entirety of a bottle that i don't know what to do with. absinthe effect? no clue. i couldn't finish the damn thing to find out. i recommend to all: stay away from gothica, the most vile substance on earth. try rubbing alcohol before drinking this.

I have exactly the same opinion about that.

Mes hommages.

The best Absinthe for me are...

For drinking \"à la française\" (= with water):

Blanche de Fougerolles Heure Verte.

Mansinthe.

Mata Hari.

for drinking \"à la Tchèque\" (outbreak, blaze):

Trul.

And, if you want to try yourself: www.alandia.de/

legends about the Absinthe, since it was the subject of this article ...

As some have said, what made them mad Absinteurs of the old days was not absinthe, but ... The laudanum they put on their sugars.

True, true. Of course too much in the absinthe and it'll kill you, so I've heard

Meaning comes from within.
