What's in the news?
That's an obvious fact, I would also go in such a situation if I had money and free time to spare. But I'm sure nobody would have gone to Afghanistan when they just started the war, and mind you Afghanistan has (or at least it had - don't know what may have been destroyed) quite a number of historical sights that are worth visiting... The problem with war is that you can't easily enter a country and walk around sightseeing...
That's true, for war areas I guess. I think for us, we probably won't be rescued by our country if we got stuck/kidnapped/held hostage in a place like Afghanistan. Don't know how it is elsewhere - Out country is stingy to even think about helping hostages as it is. I seem to recall they have the same policy if you get stuck in Israel, because of the whole Palestinian-Israeli crisis. Some newsreporters have been stuck there for a long while.

To see a world in a Grain of Sand,
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour.

It's the same with the recent recession... I was talking about it with my financial advisor, and he agrees that it wasn't necessarily that much worse than other recessions (overall at least, I know everyone's situation is different), but it's just that people have access now to so much more news, that it seems worse when you're getting updates from so many different directions, which may or may not be totally accurate.

Anyway, thought I'd post an update on the last thing I posted.

(I'm quite partial to the Kotaku link but I've posted both)
I really hope Sony wins this case. Also found out additional information George \"Geohotz\" Hotz is the one who caused the OtherOS option to be removed from the Playstation 3 for security reasons. It's astounding that people, who are annoyed at the removal of the OtherOS feature, are supporting this guy. He is the one who caused us to lose a feature, direct your rage at him, not Sony.
I'm really a supporter of \"bricking\" (Rendering them useless) these consoles which have used this measure to circumvent the security, if that is possible.
Anyway I'll probably go over the pdfs and the link within the BBC article over the weekend. Seems to be an interesting read.
