Latin-American metal..Wow. That's new to me. I'd love to know of some bands, just to satisfy my curiosity over what it would sound like.

However, I know that a lot of drumming is often based on Latin-American styles, so maybe it wouldn't be so unusual after all. Lots of metal can be linked back to Classical music as well, though I can't remember which piece of Classical it was where the link was very clear.

Since you brought it up, maybe you can help me out with a band i've been wondering about: <<THE MARS VOLTA>> heavy latin influence, some lyrics are in spanish,but kinda a Rush inluence too....so how would you describe them? I like em...anyone i've exposed to their music looks at me like i'm a freak(which i kinda like)
