My Strigoii Glass does have a pewter base. I'm not sure of the exact etiquette on caring for such things but whenever I use the glass, I wash the cup off with a soapy dish rag without actually making contact with the pewter. As for polisning . . . I actually find that just handling it has brought a nice lustre to the pewter.
I hadn't thought of how to wash them... thanks for the info. Sadly, we don't have a dishwasher, so I'd be washing them by hand as well.
