Storing Jewellery

Well, before I bought a proper jewellery box, I would leave my jewellery on a shelf and so I managed to lose two caps from my barbells (I took them off hastily and didn't screw the caps back on and somehow the caps went missing), my mum once was dusting around my room and she didn't notice my silver snake ring falling on the ground on which she then stepped (thankfully the jeweller could fix it) and some jewellery I don't wear very often, like my velvet chockers and they catch dust like a magnet catches metal... I also don't really feel like it every time someone is at my place to listen to all the gushing how beautiful all my jewellery is...

To see a world in a Grain of Sand,
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour.

I've actually had to get a little creative with storing my jewellry since it has begun to multiply more rapidly. I do have a lovely wooden jewellry box but have since gotten two leather bound ones and a resin one with dragons on it as well as an assortment of other small boxes. Most of my necklaces with plain chains and some of my bracelets are hanging from a board with key hooks in it attached to the wall. Unfortunately, with a brat of a cat wandering around, I really can't leave any of my jewellry lying loosely about or it disappears.

I have 3 separate jewelry boxes, and still have jewelry all over the house (my nightstand, bookshelf, my desk, bathroom counter, the table next to my chair in the living room, etc.) I just take it off and leave it around. I really need to organize my life better. I also think I just need to get ONE jewelry box that is big enough to hold all my jewelry and not worry about it anymore. Maybe one with a glass front to see in and admire my favorite pieces.

Nothing to see here, move along folks.

My favorite jewelry box is a teak ming dynasty \"ladies dressing table\". It has three drawers in the front, and a back panel that is carved. The top is surrounded by a low carved rail, and is the perfect place to display jewelry nicely. The only problem is it is so old and has to be polished all the time, and the carvings are hard to keep polished. The other difficulty with this is it is large and oddly shaped. I have to keep it on the floor almost because it is to wide (front to back) to fit on my dresser. I don't think it is particularly goth looking, but it is definitely unique.

Any pictures?

I was handed down a lot of small jewellery boxes..Not really gothic at all and I've never put them to use, one was a gift from my aunts and the other was given to my mother for her wedding day, which was in turn given to me. Both are musical when opened as well.
