To see a world in a Grain of Sand,
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour.

Envy, I'm sorry for your fish.
Btw. you're picture is too big, so I've added one here in my post of a pleco so that others can see.

Yeah, generally all fish will get bigger the more space/the better the water quality they have in the tank. Plecos are a type of of catfish, so given the space, they can become real monsters. :woohoo:
We only had one pleco..His main job was to suck off the algae on the sides of the tank (which he did really well) so we only ever needed one. In addition to that, plecos poop like hell and need to eat way more than just the algae in the tank (you have to feed them a chunk of cucumber every day to keep them fed but not overweight) so it'd be hell to look after more than one.
Ours was only a baby and he stormed through a large cucumber every 4-5 days (5-6cm chunk per day. He was so cute - Would eat all of the inside and then hide inside the skin whilst getting the last of the fleshy parts eaten. Could never see his head, just his tail wiggling), so a large one would probably require one cucumber every 1-2 days at a guess..
If you think common plecos look good, you should see the zebra ones. So pretty!
Picture below, if it decides to show up.

Hehe. We never thought we'd need so many cucumbers until we did a bit of research before buying our pleco. Cucumbers are a great mix of being a large but low cal. meal, so it keeps plecos full but not unhealthy. Also read that it depends on the type of pleco as to the veggie diet. I seem to recall things like zebra plecos actually prefer the more protein-y foods.
Wow! You're right, the zebra one is way cool looking. Never would have imagined feeding fish a veggie, my 'things ya learn' moment for the day.
