:pinch: It rained so much last night that we only got one group of kids banging on our windows, and by the time we'd gone out to give them chocolate, they'd ran off somewhere.
All the more for me..It was meant to be. :silly:

So Halloween is officially 60 days away (the countdown begins!). It is my favourite holiday of the year and I always get really excited about it. In fact, I've been planning my costume since last year. After much deliberation, I finally decided on Cleopatra and I intend to make it look as authentic as possible. I'm too old to go out trick or treating but luckily, I've got a friend whose birthday is October 31st so I always have a party to attend. Has anyone else made plans for Halloween yet?

It's my favorite holiday as well!
The Cleopatra costume sounds fabulous (I love Egyptian stuff); don't know what I'm going to dress up yet this year cos I don't know what I'm doing on Halloween yet. Last year I made a cute/scary Mcdonald Ronald clown costume but I hated having all that makeup on my face :S This year I'm thinking of making a Lily Munster costume, but I *may* be going to the state fair that night & the trailing sleeves/skirt would make it pretty inconvenient to go on the rides.
I do know that I'm going to set up the \"cemetery\" in the front yard again this year, though.

To see a world in a Grain of Sand,
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour.

A 60 day countdown is too long a countdown for me. It's too early to think about Halloween now (at least for me).
The only thing I'm looking forward are the pumpkins. I feel like eating pumpkin stew now. :silly:

Well if anyone has any good recipes for pumpkins, please let me know - I may have around thirty to use up! I decided to grow my own veg this year in my garden, and the pumpkins went wild! It's early days yet, but there are plenty of flowers and quite a few still-green globes forming. I've never cooked one before, they're not commonly eaten here in the UK and most poeple just buy one or two for jack-o-lanterns.
All the kids in my village seem to go trick-or-treating, it's becoming more popular. I have a giant, realistic hyena costume I had made for me which I'm going to wear, but as yet we don't know if anyone's having a party, might have to organise one ourselves.
