They let us try javelin once or twice. Nearly gave my ear a new piercing. The dang things are so long that they can be really difficult to manage. I did, however, excel at archery.

:P Ahh we had discus too - I didn't fail too badly at that.

We've always been careful about javelin..In the history of our school, one teacher was once skewered to the school field because of a javelin. He survived, but was very lucky to do so. Seem to recall a shotput ball was 'accidentally' thrown at a teacher..Who ended up needing stitches to his lip as well.

I always wanted to do archery! A friend of mine does shooting and is trying for the junior olympics team..I just wish I was more sporty at times. I'm just too clumsy.
