Ooo, you know those weird lumps could be the same as what I have on the back of my feet. Apparently they're just caused by wearing 'incorrectly' fitting shoes for just about forever. But they feel really hard like they're bone. It's kinda gross, lol. But it doesn't stop me wearing any shoes I want.

My favs are my demonia platform boots, because they don't have a heel they're super comfy! Plus they look pretty impressive anyway, and being short, give me the little extra height I need to see the band at gigs!

If it's not a problem with your inner ear, then you should think about your hight and feet size.
You can have problems with balance also if you have disproportionally small feet in compression to your height. One of my friends is a EU 38 shoe size and is 175 cm high and she's so off balanced that when she wears high heels she basically walks as if she's running, in an effort not to fall over, and she can't slimb stairs if there is none to hold her because she already tumbled twice down the stairs. :S

To see a world in a Grain of Sand,
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour.

Don't think it would be height.. I'm 5 foot tall and I have EU 38 feet (I think..UK size 4.5 anyway, but I have to buy size 5 because few people do half-sizes). My mother's an inch taller and she has UK 3 sized feet, yet her balance is a lot better than mine. :(

Boots have always felt more comfortable on my feet than any other type of shoe. Sure, I get blisters at first whilst I'm breaking them in or after walking many miles, but otherwise I love them. Always bring hiking boots when you live in the mountains. You never know when you'll suddenly go hiking. It always seems like I'm wearing my good boots at the time.

If you always get blisters in the same places, try rubbing a bit of Vaseline (aka petroleum jelly) on those spots on your feet. Of course this doesn't work for pretty shoes with stockings, but for boots or sneakers, or any type that you'd be wearing socks with too, I find that it really helps.

Sorry if I've posted this before, but this thread is getting quite long, and I really can't remember.

I put a strip of surgical tape on my skin on all the places my ice skates rub my feet. That prevents blisters. Just make sure the rubby spots are all covered well, and that the tape doesn't slip at all. All the friction in the skates is rubbed onto the tape, and not your skin!

Nothing to see here, move along folks.

I wish I could ice skate! But I'm way too clumsy - I'd make a right arse out of myself for certain.

I usually just strap on some plasters (band aids?) onto areas I know are prone to blisters before I go out with certain shoes on. Always keep some plasters in my bag too - Just in case.
