To be tall, or not to be tall.

No, I agree. I wouldn't want to do that just for the vanity of being a few inches taller. High-heels can be bad enough, but surgery that takes months and months to recover from, and from what I hear is excruciatingly painful, no. I don't even want to have a skin peel for vanity. But then again, I get tattoos and piercings, so maybe vanity is worth a little pain. But not that much...

Nothing to see here, move along folks.

Argh..Heels can be the worst at times. I can recall my prom night - 6 hours dancing in heels. By the end of the night, all of the women were gingerly hobbling out of the bar after searching for their shoes in the massive high-heel-pile that had accumulated as the hours went by.

We have cobbled streets in some places within the city I live in, and that can be really awkward with heels - I'm always scared I'll slip whilst in platforms, especially when it's been raining - My heels don't really have any grip, and a friend of mine was unable to wear heels again due to slipping and injuring her ankle.

I don't know how much it costs in England, but in the U.S. you can go to a shoe repair shop and they can put a grippy rubber sole on the bottom of your slippery shoes for about $10. Not bad, if it saves injury. I have a few pairs of shoes that need this treatment too.

Getting the grips added to your shoes is definitely worth the price! I do that automatically with any new shoes I buy (which isn't often because I hate shopping for shoes), just to avoid the potential for wiping out.

Oh wow..I never knew that.

Looks like I should save up to get all of my platform heels done. :blink: Going to cost a lot. Maybe they can fix the hole in the sole of one of my favourite pairs of flats as well...:angry: It's fine in dry weather, but in wet weather, the whole shoe gets soaked.

I usually don't use heals that are too thin (like stilettos) because it's so hard to walk in them even on the right kind of ground. And right now there's not much of those heals in stores, but very high and thick heals (with a bit of plateau, if that's the right word). Love it! Even tho most are for indoor or summer use... too bad. And no idea why they're selling them now... :huh:

My beauty is not the shape of the body,
but the voices in you mind;
the thoughts you can't live without
