Nervousness

My daughter's room is upstairs, my room is downstairs. We would hopefully hear her coming down the stairs. We don't have a door on our bedroom, though. it is basically the whole downstairs of the house (technically the basement). There is a curtain blocking the light from my office into the bedroom area, but other than that, no privacy. I think if I win the lottery I am going to buy a wall with a door in it.

I will hear anyone coming into my room. The door to the garage makes a lot of noise, and the stairs down from above are really creaky. When I get back home I will put up some pictures so you all can see. I can't even figure out where I would put a door, since the entryway is so odd. Maybe one of you will have a better idea for me. But it will have to wait a few days.
