I try my best to grow them but since I've moved I don't have a garden with which to do so and I've got too much other stuff on my plate right now. I grow both magickal and others for cooking. I don't really like gardening, but it's so worth it when I see little buds starting to appear and little green stems rooting from the ground. Makes me feel so proud.
To Highwayman: Do you mean what is my favorite herb? If so, then it's either Sage or Wolf's Bane. Both are practical for my uses. One cleanses while the other poisons...hee hee. I tip my blow darts with Wolf's Bane. It'll make you puke your guts out with one shot.

I use a wide variety of herbs in both cooking and magickal workings. I also use stones, oils and various other materials in my spells (I mainly do small charms for friends). My favorite herb to cook with is basil. My favorite herb in spellwork is sage. My favorite non-herb spell component is snake skin which I collect fresh from the source about once a month. Just thought I'd throw that in there for kicks!
I, unfortunately, don't have a herb garden at the moment. Still trying to get the yard under control after it was let go by the previous owneres. But, fortunately, there is a reputable herbalist just outside of town that I can get my supplies from until my garden takes off.
