Oh that's true. I have to always hide in the shade when it's sunny, but at least sunshine is rare in little England. :P

May I suggest a parasol? Or would it not be to your tastes?

Ah, I can see people giving her even a harder time if she wore a parasol! I know even some of my goth friends declared me insane for wanting to buy and carry one around here. You stick out with the plain black cloths, add a parasol and you're screaming pick-on-me! :(

To see a world in a Grain of Sand,
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour.

Haha thanks , but I do not prefer lace too much. :P That reminds me on one woman I saw yesterday. She litter a huge beach parasol in her hand and walked by the waterfront. :woohoo: She looked pretty weird so all tourist were weird looking at her.

I really like that parasol, but I know I'd definitely get weird looks if I carried it, or anything similar, around here. Even my husband thinks I'm nuts for wanting one...

Oh I know I'd get weird looks, but at the end of the day, it's just like using an umbrella in rainy weather. *Shrug*..I use an umbrella when I don't have a parasol. It does the job. :woohoo:

I always carry parasols with me, and I have some paper (one with skulls, one with an octopus, both from Clockwork Couture), and fancy ones (black and white, purple, etc.). I get looks, but since I am not cowering and feeling self-conscious, most of the people who look or comment tell me they admire or enjoy the parasols. If I walked around glaring at people daring them to say something obnoxious, or looking shy or retreating, seeming uncomfortable in my own skin, then I would probably inspire teasing. But since I am confident in myself, most people think it is cool.

I was at the grocer the other day, and a mother and daughter were selling lemonade for charity outside. I stopped to buy some and talk with them. Lucy was with me, dressed in her skull and crossbones shirt and feeling good about her 9-year-old self. The woman's daughter was admiring my clothes, and they even took my picture (at least they asked first!!!). The girl was saying that she got teased when she dressed that way at school, and I think that is part of it. I walk around dressed the way I do with confidence and happiness in myself. A 10-year-old girl might not have that kind of confidence, hence, the teasing. I think your attitude defines how you are treated by others to a certain extent.

Nothing to see here, move along folks.

I respect myself and my attitude for my self is good. I am not ashamed to wear what I like. But I just don't like parasols. Maybe the reason is that I am too lazy to hold something in my arms. I also don't like umbrellas.
