The Star of Isis is an ancient eight pointed star symbol, representing The Madonna, or the Divine Feminine. The star is sometimes depicted with a single point facing northwards, and Alchemy's pendant includes the red Sun Disk symbol, usually depicted in icons in the headdress of Isis.
In every culture the deity has been venerated and personified in a different form, notably, from over three thousand years ago as Demeter and her daughter Kore and in ancient times as the pagan Egyptian and Alexandrian goddess Isis, whose son was Horus.
As the Christian faith was established the deity transmuted into the Blessed Virgin Mary with Her son Jesus, including the Black Madonna of the Crusades and of holy pilgrimages and the Catholic Mary, Mother of God, whose other titles also included Queen of Heaven and Queen of the Angels. |
