Sad to say it has been a very long time since I've been to a library, but last I went, to take a book out of the library you needed a membership card, I forget if you pay for a membership or not, and that might also depend on the library. As a kid I had a card, and I think cause of age (and how long ago that was) there was no member fee. Wouldn't doubt if that has changed by now though.

Damned pigeons.

A really fat male pigeon keeps returning here and coo-ing for a partner. He's so loud that you can hear him even when all your windows and doors are shut.

He recently found someone and has gone from coo-ing right outside my window on the roof of another building to coo-ing *on* our house, meaning that his dratted noise is even louder...
