Curious... do you have nutrition labels on most things in Croatia? Just about everything has a label now in Canada, so it's pretty easy to track what you're eating, once you figure out how to read them.
Nope, unfortunately not. It would be a lot easier if it was so. I always read the ingredient labels but they only list everything that is in a product but not the amount of it.

Oh wow..I couldn't imagine that.
In the UK, I *think* it's mandatory for products to have nutrition information (per pack and per 100g usually) and/or something like this on the front:
I'm not sure, because I have bought food before without these labels on, although that was from a small and basically unknown-brand-food shop, and even if it's not a compulsory thing, labels like that are on all of our food anyway, because companies which don't label food really lose out in these health-conscious times.

Oh, that does make it a lot tougher! At least they list the ingredients though, so at least you have some idea of what's in it.
I'm pretty sure it's mandatory here as well, similar to the label that Envy posted. I don't always read them for things that I buy on a regular basis, but if I want to try something new, I do usually check out the info.
Anyone else think we need a \"healthy food\" thread? We seem to be straying from the topic here...

I looked up some labels now of items that I have in my kitchen. Some only have the ingredients listed not even stating the total calories or anything, others have a label with the amount of protein, carbs, fat in gram per 100g or 100ml depending on the package.
I've moved the posts into this \"Eating Habits\" thread so that we aren't so much off-topic on the sweets thread. :silly:

Have to read those little labels carefully in the UK. Sometimes companies will try and trick you - E.g. stating amount of stuff per two pieces of food, or per 25g or something like that, to make it appear lower than it is. >.< Grr.
