Muammar Gaddafi was killed today.

Ahh the Gaddafi news is everywhere today. The media is impressive - Practically all students know about it and yet very few of us have televisions to watch the news with. Everything now seems to just spread through Facebook.

Saw it on the news, and I must say turned into one hell of a group toast at the theatre bar today when a mate of mine jumped off his bar stool shouting \"to the death of Gaddafi, may he rot in hell!\" And everyone in the room joined in the drink... As much as I believe in the sanctity of life, the suffering is enough. One day soon my country will hopefully be so liberated.

Guess the news is everywhere purely because of the length of the problem, if anyone can understand what I mean by that...

Today like on every news channel, was the killing of Gadhafi, the, well now ex-ruler of Libya. I think he got what he deserved.

Yeah.

I'm of a similar view. I couldn't ever approve of someone who states \"Death to X!\" etc. etc..I feel the same way about this as when Bin Laden was killed? That a life is a life and a death should never really be celebrated. It's quite animalistic to do so..

Agreed... But I can also see how sometimes there's no other way of resolution. But really I also think that not enough effort is put into alternative methods of dealing with people like that, especially on an international level in regard to co-operation and a unified front.

Although I know that even while I say this, the aforementioned anticipated death I will definitely celebrate. I can deal with my own hypocrisy (sp?!) on that issue :)

Edit: Hah! Sorry Envy, I really haven't figured out how to cut down quotes correctly!

I heard about Gadafi too, but it wasn't very featured in the news in my opinion. Mostly they just announced that he was killed, showed a photo of his dead body and said a couple of sentences how the people in Lybia are celebrating. Not really big news as you would expect.

And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour.
