Originally spelt in Hebrew form without vowels; ‘YHWH’, the name was sacred, and was not to be spoken. Yhaweh also evolved in Gnostic lore, to become Abraxas, the ‘supreme being’, which was eventually corrupted and became known as a demonic creature.
