My sanctuary would probably be deep in a woodland forest..Although I do find comfort on empty clifftops, where I can watch the sea.

My Strigoii Glass does have a pewter base. I'm not sure of the exact etiquette on caring for such things but whenever I use the glass, I wash the cup off with a soapy dish rag without actually making contact with the pewter. As for polisning . . . I actually find that just handling it has brought a nice lustre to the pewter.

also, Omar Rodriguez-lopez's solo album sounds very Santana like (to me)*

Yup, it's from 1962 (I own a DVD of it). I think it looks older because it's so low-budget. A remake could be good, in the hands of the right director...

Inner Universe is by Yoko Kanno, he does a lot of anime soundtracks.

The new film isn't anything to do with Hollywood, the original directer/producer/whoever felt that the initial film was out of date, due to the 2D anime style, and they wanted to replace some of the scenes, notibly the ones where you see her turn into the cyborg body, with 3D (something I think they integrated into the later films?), also her falling off the building at the beginning, it's called 'Ghost in the Shell: 2.0' or something. All I was saying was that apprently it doesnt integrate with the old film very well, especially if you think how dated the 2D anime looks compared to the later 2D of the other films, and that alot of fans felt it was an uncessary change, I don't my self, since I haven't had a chance to see it,

I loved Philip Pullman's 'His Dark Materials' trilogy..It was well written and despite being fantasy-based, it wasn't to the point of being cheesy (there was a lot of ideas about physics and philosophy in it).

Well..It wasn't cheesy until it was turned into a children's movie. Always preferred books to the film versions. *Sulks*

1) A.G.'s starts on Monday; which while correct, throws a person off after so many years of "normal calendars" 2) Monolith puts fun little factoids on the calendar; like who was born what day or when Stoker wrote dracula,etc...
I get Alchemy's more or less for the artwok (like i put in the suggestion box, they should sell lithographs as well as posters)

I once stitched my eyes togheter in a dream, but find that I couldn't see as good as I needed (was gonna fight several monsters) so in the dream I zoomed in on my (three) eyes and carefully pulled the thread out. The fun is that I felt it, when the thread was drawn trough my skin.
And that wasn't a nightmare, because it wasn't at all scary. Just interesting. And, a bit more morbid then most I dream, but still.

Myself I never dream nightmares... well, I've had a totall of... three? dreams that have been something like scary. One consisted solely of a fight, but only with one moment scary (I thought the axe was gonna chop of my feet). That dream I remember whole, and it was more like a thriller then a dream... with schizophrenia and all.

We don't have any of that in Texas were I live, but could you post some history, what it actually is, I would love to know from someone that celebrates it, not just from research on my own.
Check Morgana's earlier comment:
Guy Fawkes was one of a group of conspirators, who planned to blow up Parliament and thereby assassinate the King of England, in 1605. The plot was discovered (on November 5) before they could carry it out, and the conspirators were hanged. Fawkes was the leader of the group, so every year on November 5 bonfires are lit to celebrate the saving of the king's life. Effigies of Fawkes are burned as well, I think.
The leader of the group was Robert Catesby but Guy Fawkes had the job of putting the plan into action. There were religious motives behind their actions, in that the group wanted a greater tolerism toward Catholicism.
Other 'celebrations' include kids and teenagers (usually chavs) constructing grotesque effigies of Guy Fawkes and begging "Penny for the Guy?". Quite irritating..
We call it Bonfire Night where I live.

Is there anything else in particular that you would like to know? :-D

As I've been a bit busy, and haven't had the chance to post it on here yet, there have been 3 more bands announced!

The Bloodstock team are pleased to announce that US death metal legends CANNIBAL CORPSE have been added to the bill for Bloodstock Open Air 2010.

This is a UK EXCLUSIVE and their ONLY UK SHOW in 2010! which the band are eager to deliver. Says drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz:

"We are extremely excited to be playing Bloodstock! It will be our first ever festival appearance in the UK and we can't wait to tear it up for the masses!" Paul M

Cannibal Corpse were formed in Buffalo, New York, in 1988 and despite virtually no mainstream media exposure, they have gone on to become the biggest selling death metal band of all time. After gigging locally and recording a five track demo, the band were picked up by Metal Blade Records who issued their debut album Eaten Back to Life in August 1990. With tracks such as Edible Autopsy and A Skull Full of Maggots, and gory sleeve artwork to match, Cannibal Corpse courted controversy from the word go. Later years would see their albums censored and banned in many parts of the world, most notably in Germany where for a lengthy period they were prohibited from performing material from albums up to and including Tomb of the Mutilated. 1991’s Butchered at Birth followed a similarly explicit path to their blood-soaked debut and saw the band quickly begin to build a rabid cult following in the underground. Tomb of the Mutilated (1992) and The Bleeding (1994) continued their success, the latter remaining the band’s best-selling album to date. As a mark of their growing notoriety, 1994 also saw the band perform a brief cameo appearance in the movie Ace Ventura: Pet Detective alongside actor Jim Carrey.

1996’s Vile marked the debut of new vocalist George ‘Corpsegrinder’ Fisher who was drafted in to replace the sacked Chris Barnes. Vile was the first death metal album to appear on the Billboard 200 chart, debuting at no. 151. Although their line-up has undergone slight changes from time to time, subsequent years have seen them sticking to their basic formula with only slight technical refinements and continuing to be one of the most popular bands in the genre. Gallery of Suicide (1998), Bloodthirst (1999), Gore Obsessed (2002), The Wretched Spawn (2004) and Kill (2006) all bear the trademark Cannibal Corpse sound, offering visceral horror stories with a savage soundtrack to match. The band’s most recent studio album, 2009’s Evisceration Plague, entered the Billboard 200 chart at no. 66, the highest opening position of their career.

After being forced to pull out in 2009, it is with great honour, anticipation and a touch of nerves that the Bloodstock team can confirm GWAR’s EXCLUSIVE return to the UK. The Grammy-nominated Scumdogs Of The Universe will be flying in from Antarctica to unleash hell on all in attendance. Frontmonster Oderus Urungus warns us of the impending orgy of bodily fluids, nuclear waste and all manner of murder and vulgarity.

GWAR were formed in the US in 1985 and have become best known for their over the top costumes and outrageous stage antics. Although influenced by both punk and thrash, the band’s sound has shifted and evolved throughout their career as the demands of their lyrical themes and stage performances have changed. Their debut album Hell-O was released in 1988 and featured the core line-up of Oderus Urungus (lead vocals), Flattus Maximus (lead guitar), Balsac the Jaws of Death (rhythm guitar) and Beefcake the Mighty (bass guitar), characters which remain in the band today, although their costumes are not necessarily worn by the same musicians.

GWAR have issued many further albums over the years, some varying greatly in style from others, but each characterised by the band’s unique and anarchic sense of theatre and boasting titles such as America Must Be Destroyed, This Toilet Earth and We Kill Everything. Targeting celebrities and other public figures with their black comedy whilst spraying their audiences with gallons of fake bodily fluids, a GWAR gig is a performance quite unlike any other. Waterproofs and wellies are recommended.

The band’s latest studio album Lust in Space was released in August and they are currently backing it up on tour throughout the world and elsewhere. Having been forced to cancel their scheduled appearance at BOA 2009, be sure that their forthcoming Bloodstock outrage will be raucous, mean and totally obscene.

The Bloodstock team are pleased to announce that Finnish folk metallers KORPIKLAANI have been added to the bill for Bloodstock Open Air 2010. This will be their ONLY UK SHOW in 2010!

Unlike many metal bands incorporating folk elements, Korpiklaani’s roots are in pure Finnish folk music. In 1993, Korpiklaani frontman Jonne Järvelä formed a folk group called Shamaani Duo. After releasing one album, the group evolved into folk metal act Shaman who issued two albums in 1999 and 2001. Shaman changed their name to Korpiklaani in 2002 before issuing their debut album Spirit of the Forest the following year.

Rejecting synthesizer substitutes, Korpiklaani use violin, woodwinds, jouhikko, djembé and an accordion alongside the usual metal instrumentation of guitars and drums. The early Korpiklaani albums feature English lyrics but the band later retraced their roots and have returned to lyrics sung mostly in Finnish. Favourite topics include nature, history and, of course, drinking beer.

They followed their debut with Voice of Wilderness (2005) and Tales Along This Road (2006), although they still struggled to receive mainstream media attention for their music and were sustained on the road merely by their love of playing. In 2006, however, a slot at the legendary Wacken Open Air festival brought them to the attention of a much wider audience and they received many favourable reviews. The albums Tervaskanto (2007) and Korven Kuningas (2008) built upon this success and in 2009 the band mounted their first ever tours of both North and South America. Their latest album Karkelo soon followed and the band celebrated with a second tour of the US.

The band are eagerly anticipating their return to the Bloodstock stage:

“We are very glad to get a chance to play in Bloodstock Open Air again after few years. Last time was our first festival in England and the audience was wild and good as always there. We are looking forward to the festival very much already, and we hope there is enough cold beer like the last time.”

Anyone who witnessed the band’s rousing performance at BOA 2007 will know exactly what to expect from these fun-loving Finns. Let’s just say that ‘Karkelo’ translates as ‘Party’!

There does seem to be some confusion over the galleries.

There are essentially 3 galleries. One for (hopefully good quality) pictures of you and alchemy gothic products, one for tattoos featuring alchemy gothic art (or decals on cars etc) and one which is far more celeb based (ie bands wearing alchemy gothic).

We get a lot of images that feature no Alchemy Gothic reference at all. These will never get published.

Its wise to explain the alchemy reference in any upload.

For pictures that could be of interest to people who visit this site but dont feature alchemy products just stick em in a thread on this forum.

I love the German language! So yes, I like bands who sing in German, one that I haven't heard mentioned is Subway to Sally.
I go to Wacken, the metal fest in Germany every year, and I can speak a little, although I used to be able to speak alot more! I can always understand roughly what people are saying but never reply!

Now, I'm all about my boys b-days. Even if they get thrown a party on the weekend closest to their day, I always do something special on their day. I buy them an extra cake just for the day. This year was cool because my youngest son had his first b-day, so I gave him a cupcake and he ended up wearing most of it.
:) Personally, I think people need to take the time to appreciate their mom's on their birthday. In most cases, a lot of pain and labor goes into us being brought into this world. We wouldn't be able to celebrate our life if it wasn't for the strong women who went through pregnancy and child birth to give us life. :)

Hehe I love kids - How innocent they are (and how they say what they think and can get away with it). :) Sadly, I'm really too young to be thinking about some of my own.

I do love Type O Negative. Their early stuff like Unsuccessfully Coping With The Natural Beauty of Infidelity is ok but when they do their tongue-in-cheek goth satires they're at their best. Because they kind of mock gothic but in an affectionate way. Black No 1 is a brilliant, sexy, heavy, dark, sexy song. I think it's really sexy as well...
Oh does anyone else like Paradise Lost? I bought their newest album on a whim (I liked the packaging) despite not having heard anything by them before and its is AMAZING.

I think I was seven years old. I love all fantasy, death, and occult things. I had a boring childhood for the most part, but the worlds I visited in books were amazing..I still love to lose myself in my books. Anyways I found advertisments for the jewelry and I love to imagine what witches and wizards wore so I followed it, and goth wasn't popular in my hometown when I was grown up so I just liked it to myself. Then when I got older I found pieces in shops and now I got tons off Ebay. (Sorry still haven't gotten my catalog to make purchases from), but I am excited none the less.. I have the little cauldron and it is perfect for two rings and bunch of small earrings. I love it. Bracelet, necklaces, ring, and have to get some earrings now. I always get great comments on my Requium Aeternam bracelet, I have to tell them what it means in Latin. But I have loved this line for awhile, but didn't have to funds, til later in life. Even when I was in Europe I saw pieces all over Germany, Switzerland, Italy, and France.

I used to perform alot. Now that I'm a mom of 2 it makes practicing rituals hard, especially with a school schedule. I do try to partake when possible. I always keep focus of the moon. Sometimes I leave my quartz out for charging. Sometimes I light the occasional candle for meditation or house cleansing. For Samhein, I carve the pumkin and make beef for dinner. Summer Solstice is my husband's b-day, so that day is celebrated. Spring Equinox is my dad's b-day, so that is celebrated. I wish I had more time to get back into it. Maybe I wouldn't feel so stressed constantly. One thing is for sure, even though my life keeps me busy and sometimes I go from day to day just to get by. Taking a moment, even if it's just a minute or 2, I try to take in the changing in the seasons, appreciate my surroundings and the true beauty of nature and it's ever evolving forms.

After that, my mind was empty and I could think about what I wanted. Good things. Like all that stuff didn't matter anymore.

All I can do is advice you to go see someone. And then keep talking to them, even if it doesn't seem to matter. I've been there, back and forth, talking to people and just being alone, but now when I see a professional weekly, even if we just talk about daily matters, I feel much better then I have.

There have been a lot of members of my family who joined the military for WWI and WWII. There's a lot of stories in the family about what it did to the people, how they were different when they came back so it is sometimes difficult to watch the documentaries. But, then again, no one actually wants to talk about what happened during the war so I find it something of an odd comfort that there are records of these pivotal events out there even if I don't know the personal tales of the family.

Nearing the end of our car journey to Wales and throughout our stay there, I had my younger brother in the car trying to say everything in Welsh on the bilingual signs. The torment...

Not only had he gotten a lot of the pronounciation wrong (I have a Welsh friend which has enabled me to learn the basics of pronounciation, not that I could understand what I was saying), but he sounded like a strangled chicken beside me on the long, long, long journeys.

Holidays. *Rolls eyes*

Hmm yes, they are quite pricey, sadly. I reckon we should all team up and hunt for rich partners, haha.

Is the custom shop temporary or here to stay? (It seems to be pretty permanent, but I'd want to ensure that by the time I've saved enough money, the option will still be there) :P

There are a lot of concerts I'd like to have been at.

Well this is a good one...

The freewill we have was spawned by the Jewish and Christian Creator, freedom is another matter, and as society keeps turning out they(Governments and religious zealots) are trying to extinguish it on a daily basis. I have had dreams or aspiriations on what I wish to do and in turn benefit society other than being a greed mongering horde that worships money and power which money only gives you the illusion of power and your self worth and honor is more powerful than money could ever be.

The elite want to keep us mindless and numb, and not knowing which way to turn, also until even the kind hearted choose to grab a pair and rid the plane of those undesirables( I have been waiting for this for 20yrs), we shall keep going in this same spiral.

No idea how to put it up though. Wouldn't want to ruin its *perfect-ness* by pinning something through it and..Err..Out of other ideas.

I have a flag that I bought several years ago, which I have hung on a thin wooden dowel. I used my glue-gun to attach the very top edge of the flag to the dowel, and then I have the dowel resting on nails in the wall.

Well, of course there is a difference between the food chain and a sense of decent humanity. In the food chain you would want to be the most brutal creature imaginable. In a sense of humanity you'd want to ignore them. The more humans grow and evolve the farther we stray from the food chain honestly...I don't think it's natural.

Yeah, I remember that as well... coming up with a costume that could fit over your snow-pants, if necessary! Kinda limits your choices to some extent.

I didn't dress up this year, but we did go out on Hallowe'en night, and it was one of the warmest ones I can remember. It was windy and blustery, but probably about plus 10 or so, which is really warm for this time of year in the Maritimes.

My AlGoth pendand and Alchefly bracelet arrived today. I LOVE the bracelet, but it is a little big on my twig of a wrist His wings are touching in the back, and it is still banging around on the bones of my wrist. Oh, well. At least my wrists are balanced with skeletons now. And it is undeniably awesome! :)

See, Corpse agrees with me. It's nothing for us to kill someone if they deserve it. On the subject of less people in the world is another reason I prefer death sentences and harsh punishments. For every person that inhabits the globe we lose more and more natural resources. We slowly eat up our planet and slowly tear it apart. I for one am somewhat of a tree hugger so I live to preserve this globe of ours and the more people we have living on the planet the more of the planet we lose. I say it's about time for a mass genocide or a new plague. The estimated population of humans to live on the planet comfortably without damaging the Earth critically has already passed about 200 years ago.

Agreed Morgana. Just last night on Ghost Adventures some woman sent a message to the tech manager and the first thing she mentioned in the message was that she was a Wiccan/Witch. It had nothing to do with the paranormal investigation really, but for some reason she was compelled to announce it to the world.

Not really. An Anti-hero is your usual good guy, but with a less heroic aura about him/her. It's becoming more and more common in this day and age vs stories from long, long ago. Basically it's like Batman and Superman. Superman is the perfect hero, always pure and good while Batman has a shadowed past and is dark, while still the good guy.
Erik, or the phantom, was still the antagonist, but he was the titular character; meaning he was the character that the movie/book/play was really about, good or bad.

I noticed you said there was a small number of potential clients for AG products. I live in the midwest of the USA. I happen to live in IL down state (Not even close to Chicago) where it is nothing but country. The joke around these parts is that we live 50 miles from anywhere because it is 50 miles to Springfield IL and 50 miles to Saint Louis MO. There is no where in the area that sells anything like AG so we would have to go to one of the mentioned cities. How ever there is a lot of sub/counter culture folks on the prarrie. I admit they are still the minority how ever there is enough that should a store carry such products in this area they would do quite well. One local tobac supplier started carrying hookahs and quickly he could not keep shisha or hookahs in stock. No there is several shops that carry hookahs and shisha. Pretty amazing for a region that has tractor pulls and rodeos. :P The point being is that even small populated areas have more of us "freaks" then you probably notice, we are just spread out over a larger area. I have to make a 24+ mile round trip just to go to the grocery store, people in low populated areas are used to driving distance to shop. Keep that in mind before dismissing stock such products as AG.

I totally agree with this! You'd be amazed at how many so-called "freaks" live in the rural areas. I think the reason that it seems as though there aren't any, is because we don't dare show our true faces for fear of reprisals. I'd probably be burned at the stake in the area where I grew up, if people there knew my true self.

OK, so that's a bit of an exaggeration, but I don't think by much...

I shouldn't admit to this but I use to be a bad speed freak (crystal meth) and would play Diablo geeked out. I am clean now and have introduced my mother to Diablo a few years ago. I created a monster, there was a time when the only way to talk to her was in game. She no longer plays but is itching for Diablo 3. Kinda disturbing pvp against ones mother. :S

No, but we met Carl Edwards, Bobby Labonte, and Matt Kensith. We also walked right past Kurt Busch. I also went to a baseball game with Kasey Kahne once. It was a contest from Sprint, and we got to sit in the hospitality suite at a Nationals game with like 50 people and chat with him. But, Go Tony Stewart! Threw that in for my husband's benefit. We usually only go to the race in Dover, Delaware, because that is closest to our house, but that's where I met Matt Kensith. You can meet a lot of drivers at a race. We saw Elliot Sadler, Ryan Newman, Mark Martin, and a bunch of others at the last race about a month ago.

I thought about several books for mine. There is a childhood/growing up part and then there is the part where my main character gets pushed into the military which takes up a LOT of pages and time and then I have a whole OTHER fantasy base that comes after that. I don't know how I'll incorporate it all yet. I'd love to write this or these books but I'm just not that creative...damn

I believe in the death penalty and it is still flawed in the U.S., if your willing to take the life of an innocent then you should have 30 days to plead your innocents, but if you are guilty beyond a doubt then after the 30 days you are removed from society permantly. Granted today the technology is better than in the past, the process should be smoother than it was so long ago with less chance of mistake and or errors or even wrongly accused.

I'm the same way. One thing I hate is how dull and dreary my life has been so far. I haven't really accomplished anything and nothing in my life has really been very exciting or worth remembering other than a few select friends. I just keep waiting for something memorable to happen in my life. I want to explore and travel and make new friends and be somebody for once, not just a no body. I think it's rather ironic that just a few days ago I was consulting the tarot cards and I decided to delve into my future, near and far. In my near future they told me I should stop doing what I have been doing my whole life or else I'll be forced to look towards a big move and a large change in plans. Not exactly what I wanted. My far future said that I would never amount to much unless I take matters into my own hands. It made me really see my life thus far and realize how little I've ever done to the point that you could call my entire life lazy. I'm trying hard to change now but it's tough switching old habits.

Something like that happened to me. My old computer's hard drive died three weeks before my father did. We used to send each other epic emails, and I saved them all on my hard drive. I wasn't able to recover them, so I called my dad, and we laughed about it, saying we will have to start all over again. I think I got three emails from him over the next week, and then he fell too ill to write anymore. He died shortly after that. So now I save all my important things OFF the computer! Which reminds me, I have to back up my picture files again...I would hate to lose my daughter's childhood!

But then again, I have no real idea of how my life will look like in a year. It may consists of work, it may consist only of my own writing, or it may be studies. Probably not all at once tho...
Still, school starts in august I believe, and don't have many holidays in this kind of school... would still try to make time tho, and money!

I've been thinking, for some time now, of getting a Latin sentence tattooed on my beck and have decided I'll be getting it if I pass my Roman Law exam this February.

And on the topic of the bracelet: I have the same difficulties with those bangles. Some models aren't available in large so I get frustrated... :( The requiem aeternam bracelet is beautiful! :)

I don't watch regular tele, and since I will be in NOLA again this year I usually watch The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Corpse Bride and Sleepy Hallow. This is an annual event which I have done for years.

Has the trinket box arrived yet? How big is it?
I found some nice gothic styled trinket boxes on ebay, not Alchemy but they are still nice.

I like the last two a lot, but there are so many nice designs on ebay; but I hate ebay because I found two Alchemy auctions and got outbid...

Course Vampire Chronicles....but Exit to Eden was a trip...

Have you read her Sleeping Beauty trilogy? She wrote it under the pen-name of A.N. Roquelaure. It's the sleeping beauty fairytale, with an adult twist. If you liked Exit to Eden, give them a try.

I own most of her books, although it's been a while since I re-read any of them. The Vampire Lestat and The Witching Hour are a couple of my favourites.
